I heard Bigfoot and Yeti are going to double team you tonight
Highly modified versions of what, american cars? They're still production cars (well the ZR1 is, not sure if this ACR was completely stock or not). The cars they are matched up against are more money, and even higher modified so that makes absolutely no sense...
The GTR is a great car performance wise, but it got beat by the ugly stick a few too many times, and I'm interested to see what the dealer markup is if they ever do make it to the states. Also, the ZR1 and ACR are both faster still.
You're missing my point that everyone says how American cars can't handle, but it looks like you all agree, so I guess I'm in the minority here.

+1. Dont see whats "Highly modified" about either the ACR or ZR1, other than the fact they are basically factory built beasts with only one purpose: to pwn just about any other car on the road stock for stock, and even stock vs modded. Just imagine either in their modded fashion, holy shit.
Silly Skyline fanboi's.

I get what your saying, and agree American cars are finally handling and well enough to hold a record on The Nurbergring. Thats fing awesome. But someone brought up the GTR spec v and i was just saying what Honda was plannig. And the ACR Viper is not a stock Viper, the older ones were lightened and had more hp, compared to a stock Viper. Not sure on the new ones. But its probably the same.

The ACR is a stock Viper... Dodge Sells a "Viper ACR"
That is like saying a Mustang GT isn't a stock Mustang. It's a performance level of the car, and stock...
With your logic, nothing but the barest of base models for each car is "stock"

No the ACR is like the Rousch Mustang. Which Ford sells those so it must be stock.

You're wrong again... The ACR is comparable to SVT or Cobra more than it is Roush which is a 3rd party that Ford has a deal with.
ACR is a suspension/performance package they have on different cars. (SRT 4 when it was based on the Neon, Viper now...) just like ford did with the SVT (Contour, Focus, Mustang...). The ACR may be a step deeper (as you can relate SRT to SVT more realistically)
Roush is more like Hennessey
American Club Racing Package = ACR

I don't think you understand.
The ACR is made by Dodge, not an 3rd Party like Hennessey, Saleen, SLP, Roush, etc...
The ACR is a options package that can be added on to your SRT10 Viper just like if you were to get a Mustang and add the Bullitt option

let me clarify. Like the GTR and the GTR spec v. the ZR-1 and the ACR package are not your run of the mill avrage sports cars you see every day. The fact is even though they are "production" cars, they are infact [especially the acr] production race cars, which would be highly modified versions of there much more tame selfs. so in my opinion when someone says the american cars cant handle, for the most part i consider them correct. Cause for the select few that receive these "factory" upgrades, they are few and far between. Honestly 90% of your domestic rides dont handle so well with out upgrades.

I know its hard to break away from the stereotype, but American cars handle just as well as any counterpart that is within range of them. (Cheaper cars included). Sure there are a few cars that are exceptions because of obvious size differences (Mini), but if you look at basic cars they all handle just about the same.
These production Race cars you talk about, are competing against more prestigious and more expensive production race cars (Enzo...)

This doesn't make any sense. All the imports at the top of the list are also low production "race" cars. 90% of all cars don't handle well without upgrades. My wife's 2007 Camry handles like absolute shit. Now, what percentage of imports do you think are Camrys, Accords, etc.?

CNN said that DODGE is selling the VIPER BRAND , DODGE is in big trouble right now and it seems that they need the money , this may be the end of the VIPER as we know it too bad...

i thought Dodge was going to discontinue the Viper around 2011 (or maybe it was 2013) due to lacking sales, cost to produce the car (low profit margins) and the "Green" movement (EPA, MPG regulations) killing the musclecar once again.
it was my understanding though a smaller, turbo 4cyl 6spd rwd 2-seater roadster would take its place, and have almost as much power, whilst being twice as economical, twice as cheap and just as fun. I think "Demon" was the codename fr said project.
Dodge's entire SRT program is hurting just due to the market, however its still kicking ass IMO because no other company has a equal. Really wish SVT was still around to match it, get some AWD turbo4cyl f00zion to battle the Evo/STi under Coletti's watch, maybe a 4.6L 4v Supercharged 2-seater roadster (IE Thunderbird) to battle the Corvette once again, not this bloated pig called the GT500.

I don't see it around
Dodge has been shopping the Viper name out there for a while, and this "Demon" has been around for a while too. Ugly as sin, and I can't look at a FWD roadster as a replacement for the Viper.

As far as i recall the Demon was supposed to be RWD. I dont think it would be considered a Roadster if it wasnt RWD, it would just be a 2 seater convertible.

Last time I heard anything specific about the Demon was a while ago, but they were saying that the Chery Platform was going to be used. That means that it'd be FWD.
While it doesn't make sense to do this, nothing that Chrysler has done in the past 25 years has made sense so it really comes as no surprise to me.
