I wanna put a tv in my 99 mustang, but I don't know where... there aren't many options for us with tvs.
Just wondering who thinks this is a good idea, bad idea, where should i put it, etc.
My friend actually mounted his above his middle AC vents, he put some metal rod in thru the top of his vents and attached it inside the vent, and the tv fit on it. a part of the metal stuck up above the vents and he put the tv on that. It didn't look bad, but it to me it sorta says STEAL ME!
Any input is appreciated, thx

Heh, that's my cue
Ok, the number one way of putting an LCD in your car is by using an indash LCD receiver. There are tons out there. Here's a link to check some of them out -- click here. They are cool and great because they all have motorized screens that slide out of the receiver and most of them have touch screen controls for the DVD player, cd player, radio, etc.
Another option is visor LCDs. You can find these by searching arround on eBay. They are much cheaper, maybe $70 a visor for a 7 inch monitor. The only problem is you won't have a source for the audio and video. So you'll need to hard wire a PS2, VCR, DVD player, etc. to have video going to those monitors.
Those are pretty much your only two options for the front seats of a Mustang. The visors aren't recommended because you can't see them while you're moving. At least I don't recommend you trying to look up at them while driving. Either way, it's a good idea to keep your eye on the road and not on the screen. Indash LCDs are by far the most convenient and practical ways to play videos in the car. Good luck.

Thanks for the help.
I've looked at the visor ones, but about the only attraction i have to them is the price.
Haha, one of the in dash tvs has a mustang as the picture, the CQ-VAD7300U. Maybe its a sign... haha
Would you recommend buying an in dash off of ebay? So far ebay has been great to my car esp since I don't have very deep pockets.

Yeah man, eBay has been wonderful for me too. I'm a little skeptical about the quality of some of the no-name brand ones that are going for under $300, but definately if you find a Pioneer or Panasonic, something like that, on eBay, I'd go with it!

If you're going to go with in-dash LCD it would be well worth it to get Pioneer. If you don't believe me go somewhere that would have both Pioneer and another brand and play the same video on them, the difference is unreal...if I was to ever put an in-dash in my car I would without a doubt go with Pioneer. As far as the visor ones, yeh they're cheap, but you end up paying the difference in the end with the hard work you're gonna have to do to get it all wired up correctly. Just be sure when you're looking at the in-dash LCD's on ebay that they have the cd player built in if you're looking for that. You can put a separate cd player or even DVD player so you can watch videos if you want to do that. Just don't expect every in-dash LCD to have a built in DVD player, just check on that before you buy...

Yes, by far, Pioneer are the best. I've used almost every major brand and out of all of them, Pioneer had the best and easiest to use navigation. No matter how cool it looks, you have to keep in mind functionality and user-friendlyness.

It's just such a difference between Pioneer and other brands, hard to describe. I just wouldn't ever settle for less after seeing the real thing. lol

Ha just wondering, just not one in Mississippi I see, that's ok, we have other places to rip you off...such as Car Tunes lol. But yeh, just go somewhere like that and mess around with everything. The fun thing to do is blow one of the subs and walk out like nothing ever happened...I just coulndn't help it the Rockford Fosgate Z series 10 wouldn't hold the 1500 watts...

I was thinking as I was driving home today, wouldn't an indash LCD reciever get in the way of the AC and whatnot?
Would I have to fold it down whenever I wanted to change the temp?
Cuz if it was lower than the AC panel, wouldnt it be in the way of putting my car in park? (unfortunately I have an auto)

It all depends on the brand of screen you end up with. They all come out different distances. I was scared of the same thing when I had a double face 840 in my car for a couple of months. It didn't hit so I would guess it probably wouldn't. As far the air condition controls...I don't believe it would get in the way...I would worry about the screen being able to stand up straight first, it will probably hit somewhere. I dunno...I'll get some measurements when I feel like going outside to my car.
