1996 mustang?

i found a 96' mustang gt for sale. the guy is telling me that it is a gt 500. i didnt think that they made them in that year. he is also saying that it has a 5.0 in it. i thought that they cam with the 4.6. i dont know if this is true. i have tryed to look it up and had no luck.

They are the 4.6 and i dont think they made a gt 500 in 96.

There is no such thing as a 1996 Mustang GT500. The 5.0 motor was not available from any factory or 3rd party vendor in 1996. You couldnt find it because it doesnt exist.

I had some stupid chick swear up and down she had a 5.0 in her 2002 GT, i told her impossible. She said she called up ford and they did it no problem. "OK you twatwaffle, you called Ford, asked them to perform nothing short of a miracle by taking a entire assembly line geared towards placing in 4.6L modular motors and re-tool for ONE 5.0 motor just to please one customer, and Ford said 'ok ma'am, you got it!" Yeah, right. Ford had enough issues trying to release the 03/04 cobra with a supercharger into the production process, let alone an entirely different motor assembly. Good one."

ok. ill keep all of this in mind. how much do you think this car is worth. it has new paint and the inside has been redone. he wants $5000 for this car but i think i can get him to 4 or lower.

I would check the carfax on the car first if you havent already. New paint and interior could spell trouble.... Definately check that first and than talk him down. Especially with the info you have now.
