I have a v6 mustang 97 and I am trying to decode my trany. In the tag on my car it a u for trany. Does anybody know what this means? Also, on the tag for the axle it has (first line) S262C and the line under that is 73 75 7E28. Any ideas would really help me out at this point. Thanks.

If it was me I'd just get a tune and firm up the shift points. 4.10 gears would certainly help as well.

Yes it would. But then it comes down to how much highway driving you do.

I was really concidering the 4.10 gears but then again this is my daily driver and I do live about 20 min away from work and about 30 min from the university. And my girl lives another 30 min away I might add. (maybe I should just dump the girl j/k lol) anyway I do drive alot and the 4.10s would dent my gas milage pretty good so I might go with the 3.73s and also what do you mean by fine tuning the gears? How can I do that?

An SCT tuner can control you shift points and shift firmness. It will also fix your speedo problem after you get them installed.
