Thermostat stuck open ??

I have a 96 GT and the air didn't work so I figured that it needed to be charged, put the guage on it and it showed it to be over charged, so I let some off and it is good now but no cold air, also tried the heat and no heat!! Is it possible that the thermostat is stuck open ? Any ideas would be appreciated. The temp gauge does not move off of cold.

Yes it could be stuck open. But your air would still work.
So you might have a different problem. Not really sure what though.

it could be that the blend door in the vent system isn't functioning properly. The temp gauge not getting off cold sounds like a stuck thermostat, but like said above the ac would still work. If the blend door isn't moving, then there is no switching between ac and heat.
