Call me crazy, but i think im in love.
these things, imo, are drop dead gorgeous. The remind me of a snowmobile with tires.
I think these things will either catch on hardcore, or fail hardcore. In todays 4$/gal prices, a piece of machinery like this that combines the economy and power of your standard crotch rocket with stability and comfort will lure alot of buyers.
And you would think standard riders would laugh at the idea of a 3 wheel machine, but ive talked to 3 so far, and all 3 loved it, one even saying he has ridden it and would love to have one for a DD when the funds allow.
I myself just sat on one at the Good Guys car show in Pleasanton, CA a weekend or so ago. Felt awesome. Really glad i have a 03 cobra to make payments or my ass would have been at the CanAm dealer that day. Though apparently the backorder for these things are huge.

They are "drop dead" something indeed... I just don't know about "gorgeous".
I can definitely see them being popular in California though.

they are like $17k out the door.
I saw a pack of two earlier today with some other sportbikes, only thing that sucks is due to their size, you cant really ride in pairs or staggered formations, the 3 wheelers have to line up single file. These guys had it down, it was one Spyder, then 2 bikes parallel, the second spyder and the last two bikes behind it. Made me jealous.
then i got the whole idea; Turbo Canam Spyder. the issue with turbo on streetbikes is 1) you will wheelie due to the torque created and being ultra lightweight, and 2) traction. Canam spyder has quite a bit more weight up front, so wheelie'n isnt likely, and traction shouldnt be an issue since stock its a 225, if anything just mount up a really really good tire there, and it should grip.
i dont see much aftermarket for it yet, mostly appearance stuff (farings and whatnot) and slip-on exhausts.
