who makes or where can i get crappy pistons to run a regular modest n/a 3.8 motor? a friend will bathe it and bore/hone it to whatever specs i want but i need to start looking for pistons.
do pistons go up in price is you bore a lot and need larger ones, or not? where is a place to get CRAPPY new pistons, like the ones it comes with stock?

I would check with Mikael at RPM Mustangs.com, I know that he sells some kind of pistons for overbore etc. Dont' think it matters how much overbore as far as price, but I would ask the "man" make sure.

The only cheap alternatives are Ford stockers... and the biggest ones are only
.039" overbore however I have a good hookup on Forged Diamond Pistons
and we can make a deal on that, they are fully custom and that means any size

To answer one of questions Pistons diameter increases do to cylinders overbore generally does not make piston cost go up. Off the shelf sizes are the same but with custom sizes you pay higher for the piston but the cost is also usually the same is all bore sizes for a particular engine

I have some stock 01 pistons I could sell really cheap, they only have 6700 miles on them,b ut if you're going to bore out the motor you can't use them.
