I will hopefully be in the market in June/July after I complete High School. I just want to know the pro's and cons of 96-98 Cobras. I have heard the 98's are better, because of something with the computer. Also which one seems to have the most problems? or are the all well built cars.

older cobra owns, 99+ cars are ugly.
94-98 ownz.
Just do a head swap and you'll be cool.

Thats the 2v, or the GTs, dont' think there is a difference in the 4v heads from 98 to 99, maybe, not sure, they both have a little over 300 hp stock ???

I wouldnt do the head swap. If i get it I am going to do gears, exhaust, and get the heads ported. Ill have more money to work with in the summer. I wouldnt want a 99+ anyways, I love the pree 99 style, I think they look so much better.

This thread needs to be moved over to the Mod board. This Q isnt appearance related.

REALLY??? what about :260 @ 5250 for an 04 GT and:305 @ 5700 for a 98 cobra? Plus the heads on the cobra respond a million times better then the new GT's do. Believe me, we have a 98 Cobra and a 03 GT and the Cobra is faster. Plus they respond a hell of alot better to bolt ons like cold air intake or a supercharger/turbo.

Hmmm, Well now, it might be easier to get mods for a 99+ GT than for a 96-98 Cobra, not so sure about that, but I believe it is, and the aftermarket is getting better every day for the 2Vs.
