Last year I noticed my T-5 was leaking fluid out of the speedo-cable location. I tightened up the bolt and it stopped leaking. Didnt look like I lost much fluid so I continued running it around. About 2-3 weeks later the tranny went south. Lost 2-3-Overdrive. When I finally got it out and got it to the tranny shop the said it needed new bearings, brass, syncro's, input & output shafts, and the case was cracked. It was cheaper to by a new t-5 then it was to have that one gone through with a HD rebuild. Ended up going with a tremec and hopefully it lasts longer than 600 miles..

a Tremec should do you well, a friend of mine has a 351w in his 88 Cougar, build rather nicely, with a 3550 behind it, it holds up no problem at all

My brother has a TKO behind a 347 in his 1992 GT. It is a strong transmission, and will take a lot of abuse. Personally, I will be going with the G-Force T-5 rebuild. I like the feel of the T-5 over the TKO.

Got the tremec in this Saturday..Man that tranny is a lot heavier than the t-5. The install went pretty smooth though...

I thought the 3550 was like 110lbs and the T5 was like 90lbs? Just from memory :?:
