Viper 560XV

I have installed my Viper 560XV alarm w/ Remote Start.

My opinion of it is: it rocks.

I just want to sit there and keep hitting the lock/unlock button just to hear the really cool beep. Yeah. I'm lame like that. But it is so much cooler than the horn-siren-pos.

I need an alarm. How much did it run you, and how much was labor?

Well. You see. That's the funny part.

This shop gave me a killer deal on the alarm ($110) because I know them... Then said it would be $310 for labor. So I was like... eh.. I'm going to shop around. Because $310 seems a bit much to hook up some wires.

Then I went to this other shop that I didn't know-so-well and they charged me $239 for the alarm but $211 for labor.

So it was about $400 total -- at either place. It's got remote start, 1/4 mile range, dual-stage shock sensor, 5 zones, power trunk, auto un/locking doors while you're driving, and (Dom will love this one) a really big LED. It probably has other stuff too. I haven't looked at the book yet.

approximately how much did it weigh? after your old alarm was out, that is.

Before I clicked on this thread again I knew that's what you were going to ask.

It was pretty light. Probably 1-2lbs.

I'll let you know when we rip out the stock stereo and amps in a couple weeks.
