alright so i here i go haha
i have a mustang v6 2003(auto) no mach 460 or 1000 system
im at a crossroads on what to do.. i have about 600 dollars to play with
so either im going to get new gears 3.73 or 4.10( have no idea which one to get) and t lock with that of course. i live in florida so i could careless about winter driving haha but are gears really worth it? i have true dual magnaflow exhause and k&n intake. how much gain in my 0-60 time can i see from the gears?
orrrr
i can update my speakers and head unit. I dont want to run subs or amps just makes the car heavier? so what have u guys done that sounds good?
thanx for your help

I would say 4:10s and a good head unit with some good speakers. And a noticalbe improvement on your 0-60.

with 4:10s you should be able to run with 4 bangers if not out run, depends on the 4 banger. dpeends on who does it ive heard prices from $550 to $800 for the gears and t-loc. I put an Alpine headunit and polk speakers in my car i think it sound pretty damn good.

You'll never see top speed with either gear. Aerodynamics and other forces are going to kick in long before it hit top-end speed.4:10 in a auto is about the same as 3:73 in a 5-speed

Yes for the speedo. That should be all you will need it for.

with 4.10s, a tune, catback, and differential, i spanked some pre 99 gt's. they were autos, but im sure i could beat a few 5-speed ones. those are pretty slow stock compared to the 99+. with those mods, im about even with the 99-04 auto on the street to a certain extent. i raced two of them but to no more than 60mph. after that they probably wouldve gotten me. ive recently added l/t's, o/r h, pulley, custom dyno tune, k&n fipk, and control arms. the car feels tons faster, but i still dont think i could beat a 99-04 auto by much, if any. the 5-speed is out of the question with a decent driver. hopefully the addition of a higher stall converter will allow me to beat stock 99-04 autos on a regular basis. its just too far of a reach with bolt-ons. the stock 94-98's are fairly easy, but the additional 70hp and 100tq of the 99+ is just to big a margin to make up.

600 wont cut gears/tloc/install... the gears/tloc alone is about 400 and if you get a 200 dollar isntall you will probably be looking for new gears/tloc soon down the road. Seem the average for a good install is around 300-600 (depending on where you go). So you are close but 600 is pushing it.

yea id figured install would be around that much.. around here probably 400
but what kind of rear end does a 2003 v6? and i went on americanmuscle.com and they have a a couple of different brand of gears does it matter which brand or what? and does anyone no where u can get cobra spoilers from? the ones that are on the like 03's and 04's. almost like a lip spoiler... the only ones ive seen are for like 600 dollars and its deff not worth that much
