I just replaced the hoses, t-stat, radiator cap, and coolant in my 1995 V6 Mustang. I have been monitoring the coolant levels in both the radiator and the remote reservoir for about a week now. I notice that if I remove the radiator cap when cold, the coolant in the radiator is about 2 inches down creating an air pocket just under the cap. I filled it to the top and quick put the cap back on a couple of times, but air consistently remains below the cap after the engine cools down. The coolant level in remote reservoir seems to stay within hot and cold level marks. The cooling system does go through its cycles and keeps the engine cool. Two questions:
1.) If I keep adding coolant to the radiator to top it off when cold, should it ever get to the point where the level consistently stays at the top of the radiator filler neck such that no air is present in the system?
2.) When you top off the coolant in the remote reservoir, do you do this cold or hot?
