I have two extra R33 GTR turbos that I am thinking of putting on my wife's Mustang. Does anyone know who sales twin turbo kits with a tuned pc for the GT? Also, any idea what the max boost is on GT stock internals? I was thinking 8 maybe 9.
Thanks much,
JP

I cant find much info on those Turbo's, though seeing two of them worked for a inline6, they should be sufficient to work on a 4.6L V8 at lower boost levels. Wouldnt expect much out of them though, but they would be a great starting point to get a kit fabbed up and running, and then upgrade accordingly.
many companies sell TT kits for mustangs, Hellion comes to mind as the only one id consider if i need a kit and wasnt going to piece it together myself.
Stock GT internals are weak, but a turbo moves more air at equal or less pressure than a blower or centri supercharger. Less pressure equals less strain on the bottom end, and airflow is what makes the power. Ive heard 400whp is when you start the clock and become on borrowed time as far as a Centrifugal (Vortech/Procharger) supercharged GT goes, but many have ran 450whp and said to have no issues and driven daily. IMO longevity rests within the tune, you could build a motor up to withstand anything and if the tune sucks, itll all amount to a mangled mess of metal within minutes. Turbos are great in that you can control boost so easily, you should start off small and go from there.
Pics of said R33 are required btw.

No problem and thanks for the info. Some of us from the GTR club just completed a days worth of driving on the IZU Skyline,(of topic but cool) it's near Mount Fugi. It's nothing but curves going up and down, I just about pissed myself.
Mine is the white one, pushing 381 at the wheels. The blue R34 has some external bits added to it, tuned, no record on power but has to be around 500 as I couldn't keep up with him on the highway. The guy that owns it is insane, good driver but crazy. The Purple looking R34 has a top secret motor in it, 2.8L stroker with one giant turbo. For now he has the boost down around 18 or 20, still able to leave the blue one though. The other (Corrolla) is an AE86, weighs just over 1500lbs as it has been stripped, the N/A engine puts out over 230 at the wheels, it is fast. Hopefully I will be able to post some video soon, just don't make fun of my redneck voice.
JP

The AE86's motor;

This is from one of the rest stops, you could tell the air was thinner there.

Mount Fugi from the valley as our day ended.
