When porting out the short runners on a 99+ lower intake, should you strive for the same diameter througout, or more of a funnel shape?
I have some lower intakes that weren't gasket matched because I didn't have ported heads when I got the intakes, but now I'm getting heads and I wanted to port the lowers to match.
Suggestions anyone?
Thanks.

I'm not 100% sure but I would think you would want a nice even porting all the way through. Just gasket match everything.

you want to port match the lower to the heads, not gasket match.
As for the top of the lower...you should match that to your upper as well, might as well gasket match both.
it ends up more of a tapered effect on the long runners and gasket matched on the short ones.

The upper, and the top of the lower (I think) are already gasket matched, so all I have to worry about is matching the size of the head port to the lower intake port.
Thanks
