Ok... since some communists removed my street racing board... I'll post tonight's loss here lol.
I was out driving with my nice new tires... breakin' em in, you know... and so I was with my friend who just finished putting in his 355 V8 into his 92 Camaro. We were on the parkway at 12:00AM (a 50mph two-lane road) when we came to a stop... I thought he was messing arround... but then I heard his wheels spinning and I knew he meant business! I launched smoothly as usual to keep grip on the road... and then pushed it... I started up lined up with him perfect (he claims that's because he was pressing on and off of the gas) and as soon as I reached 70, I began to creep back. The furthest back I was before I gave up as about as his rear bumper.
I was quite impressed to keep up with a Chevy 355 (automatic), but now he's claiming that's only because a) he didn't have good traction and b) he was letting on and off of the gas until he hit fourth gear. I donno... someone sounds like a sore... winner?? lol

Okay im the guy with the camaro. I knew shahrum would post because well, he posts everything. If I were to loose I would have to be doing something incredibly wrong. Which i did but still managed to still win. You tell me what you think. My motor is a 355 10.1 compression edelbrock aluminum 87 and up heads (60 cc) cc machined 1.5 roller rockers, eagle connecting rods, mild cam (to pass emissions) 700r4 shift kit with corvette servo, and posi 3.42 in the rear. Just to name some of the modifications. If you think a somewhat modded 3.8 could come close feel free and let me know what they have done to it. At any rate we were not lined up across from each other and I at first thought he was not going to go so I let off after spinning threw 1st and 2nd and then switched into 4th because I didn’t know he was going to go. Then I saw that he finally started so then I went back on it while I was in fourth gear and let off again because I couldn’t see him and thought he let off. but no he was behind my rear bumper. Is this drag racing? So this is what im going to do. You and I are going to the track Friday so I can kick your ass with a video camera in hand so I can show everyone. Just didn’t want this to blow this out of proportion. There is no substitute for displacement (well maybe one LOTS OF BOOST)

lol it's a 3.8 Jas... give me credit for the extra .4 liters of displacement lmao
Nah, I know you could kick my ass. Racing a V8 is just as sad as me racing Corvettes (yes... I do antagonize old men driving Corvettes on the road!!!). I know I couldn't win, but I did it for the hell of it.
Thanks for the compliments on the car See... I'm not that hated after all! lol

Toxins, dont be suprised if you dont get much more than a mid 13 out of it, we did a very similar build to an L98 firebird, but the compression was about 11.2:1, had a custom chip burned, a 2800 stall converter, 9 bolt rear with 3.47's and posi, and a mess load of other things
best run as a 13.74 i believe

I built the engine for 13s to high 12s right now it has a 2200 stall and I had a chip custom burned beacause i used a 305 harness and computer. But yes i am expecting a 13 second run. With nitrous i am expecting mid 12s or so. Its a street car. And any street car that runs 12s to 13s is a fast car in my opionion.

I got the specs in my car ill let you see them thursday. Anyway yes i wish i had an ls1. A stock ls1 with a supercharger supposely makes 600+horsepower. I belive it to, no doubt. Ive seen those things with a pro tech supercharger that boosted 9 pounds and would break the tires loose at 60 mph. LS1s are the shit. Hell they have a 6 bolt main. The only thing they have in common to a 350 is that it is still a pushrod motor.

Dude at my school drives his dad's 2001 LS1 Trans-Am to school everyone once in awhile. My friend raced him, lost naturally. My buddy James was in his 1984 Camaro doing 70mph and the LS1 hauled ass passing him doing 140 with the Trans-Am barely working.

i put in about a weeks worth of work in an LS1 shop, and the cars are amazingly easy to work on, and make serious power with little work
there was a guy who had basic bolt ons, intake lid, K&N, headers, exhaust, and a few small odds and ends, and had a cam made for it, it dyno'd 423hp at the wheels! theres guys pushing well over 450 with heads and cams

when i used the 305 mem chip it loped like a mad man from hell but after getting a custom chip burned they figured out all the timing and fuel curves etc. and made it idel really nicely. Power is nothing without proper tunning. That mem chip made one hell of a difference. And for anyone else who has put a bigger cam in or has done alot of modifications I would recomend highly to get one. They do make a world of difference as long as you tell an experenced chip burner all the information.
