well, i was just driving around yesterday cause it was absolutely amazing outside... so windows down, music up, the whole works. Anyway, i was just minding my own business when some stupid white accord with a fart can came up to the side of me and started jumping forward then falling back over and over. I just looked at him and shook my head. Well he kept following me, and we came up to a light but he was behind me. Then out of nowhere a black gsr pulled up to my right and kinda looked over. I didnt brake stall or anything like that... we didnt know we were gunna race from the launch, but he starts goin, i start going, and we each give it more gas until we realized what was goin on. Well i punched it about the same time he did in first and kind of broke my wheels loose but still kept enough traction to keep goin. It was pretty even until i shifted out of first, then i just kept pullin on him. I wasnt aware that those cars werent faster than that... interesting

the GSR's are respectable for a stock honda, but nothing outright fast

My buddy has a GSR with a 50 shot Zex on it. It's a fast little thing. Probably the only Vtec worth buying -- because it's nice looking. I've raced him before the Zex and took him with ease. GSR's are like mid-low 15 sec cars like the 99's. But with his Zex on now and his new stage 4 racing clutch... I'm a lil worried about even trying lol. Good kill drunkard...

Good kill...GSR's are tough to beat even stock for us v6'ers..their the only thing honda makes (honda is acura) that can pull me in 3rd gear w/minor upgrades (exclude type r, nsx, tsx)...curious how much did you get him by? i've raced plenty of gsr's just no stock ones lol

a buddy of mine has a gsr running 14.5 with just BPU, type r tranny and custom computer

i was ahead of him by about 1 car at the end of second... i didnt wanna go too fast cause i was already over the speed limit. BTW, i didnt touch my nitrous either. I know if that race had gone on longer hed catch up in the top end... but thank you ford for our sweet low end torque

He didn't believe me when I beat a GSR in my (all the stupid bolt-ons) 99 V6..

It was close - I can't imagine a slow ass pre-99 pulling on a GSR unless it was just a GSR badge

actually no... we only raced up through about 2nd gear. didnt want to go too fast in a 35mph zone, but like i said also, it wasnt a race from the get go. We both noticed each other getting into our throttles more and more and it took off from there. Id still like to race it from a dead stop with the launch and everything. I know for a fact hed kill me top end though, so hopefully i find him again

It's possible that it wasn't a GSR, you know how they all want to make their cars look like a GSR or type R... unfortunately that fad has leaked into the domestics

yeah... it could definitely have been a fake gsr. otherwise i don't see how it couldn't outrun a ~16+ sec car?

lol ken im here, but i dont remember calling the bs flag on you. but i cna say gsr's arent what theyre put up to be. i was dead even with a modded type r in the eclipse at about 90. hell i kept a STi at my fender till the end of 3rd(sucks for awd drivetrain loss percentage) so i have no doubdt mike blew away a gsr. my best freind used to be a honda boy, go around saying "im gonna do a ls/vtec conversion in my ls" but the day he rode in my eclipse, he was hooked on boost. he since sold the LS and has a 1st gen talon TSiAWD.

ken i seriously dont remember your stang. i dont think i had joined here yet. and i think even a stock splitport with minor shyt done could keep a gsr at bay. theyre not that fast.

and mike did you actually hear his vtec kick in. if he had intake and exhaust you would definately hear it, so it mightve not actually been a gsr. but even a gsr isnt that much faster than a ls, my friend with his STOCK LS took GSR's. its all in the driver.

man...i drove a GSR, and when you got the the point where the Vtec would open, it was weird as hell! engine is like vrrrrrrrrrrVRRRRRRRRR...startled the hell outa me so i would shift real quick

Ha ha, the vtec system is really cool. I have a friend with the Prelude and vtec controller on it...it kicks in around 4g now instead..it's awesome..like the engine has a new life.
