A guy I know called me today and said he has a friend who wrecked his 03 cobra with chrome 17" cobra wheels wrapped in goodyear F1's. Everything for $500. I'm not to keen on chrome because of the weight it carries with it but is this too good to pass up? originally i was going for black 17" bullit wheels with Kumho Ecsta's
I started thinking about...wreck, wheels damaged? i asked and he said their in perfect condition...of course i would THOROUGHLY inspect this wheels and tires before thinking of buying but i'm thinking this may be either too good to be true or a steal. Any thoughts?

I'd at least take a look at them. For $500... if the tires are in good conditions... you're definately getting a steal. I know there's always the weight issue... but you know... chrome Ultra-Lite's only weigh 22 lbs a wheel

I'm not 100% sure... but they're definately lighter than my Steeda Ultra-Lite's. I'd say maybe 16-17 lbs?

The stock wheel is alot lighter due to the size too, think about it...
( 15" in diameter vs 17-18" in diameter, I am no mathalogical person and hate doing ###'s myself and flunked alot of math in HS, but its pretty evident... )
and look at it this way, if you dont want the rims after you pruchase them, turn around and make a profit on ebay with them...the possibilities are endless...

If it was wrecked then it is possible that one or more of the rims was bent.

be no that like white on rice! worst case scenario, you make 400 for the tires used and several hundred off of the 2, 3, or 4 wheels, go for it!

Oh ok lol. Yeah... it's definately a dark pic. It is hard to see -- but it's a yellow stang with blue underglows.

ya sorry, i have the opacity at like 45% because it was orginally larger but to meet requirements i shrunk it...that and my button on my digi cam broke so until that's fixed i'm stuck with this one for a sig
i'm gonna go look at the wheels tomorrow...from what the guy told me their in perfect condition, no scratches...nothing. AND the tires still have the rubber spikes (for lack of a better term) left on the tread. I'm gonna make an offer of $400 off the bat and see if this kid bites.

lol, yeah. I think it was my monitor, sometimes it gets color skewed. I got a new one in the bedroom, but I'll worry about it when this one bites the dust probably.
Good luck w/ the offer man.

Your sig would look oh so kewl if you could brighten the yellow on the car up, and give the blue neons a real glowing effect and leave everything else the way it is, and maybe stretch the picture a tad bit longer kinda like mine is? then it wouldnt be so much like a square picture...
1 thing to think about with the rims, is in the width part of the rim, take your hand from the inside of them and gently run it over the surface area, and make sure there are no indentions in them or bumps, this will cause the tires to wear out quicly and you will get a vibration from that portion of the car too, this had occured on the Steeda rims we had at 1 time, nothing we could do to get it fixed unless we bought a whole new rim.
