Then one day see a car that looks almost exactly like how you want yours?

i went to the track today with some friends (didnt take my car) and saw an 87 Turbo coupe for sale, modded, and it looked a lot like what i wanted mine to look like!

it had the shaved door handles, shaved embelums, some of the molding shaved, lowered, some 17's, the only thing was he has a different hood and bumper cover than what i wanted, it was even close to the color i wanted!!

the difference was when he showed me the interior since i couldnt see through the tint, it had a red interior...the seats were almost brown, it was all kinds of beat up in there, had some shitty looking gauges rigged in there...it was really just crappy, then he lifted the hood, a FILTHY mild 5.0 that looked like someone did a half ass job swapping it in 10 years ago

That's sort of how it went most of the time when I was looking for a '65 Mustang. The cars looked great, engine was beat the crap up and they wanted more than I wanted to spend on something like that.
