whats better, 160 degree or 180 degree?

I like my engines to run a bit cooler... so when I have to change mine, I'll be picking up the 160.

160 is too cold except for blown cars. it can actually eventually cause some of the oil in your car to sludge up.

i was told that by having a 160* thermostat, the car wont go into closed loop, i just dont recall if that was for OBD-1 or OBD-2
