I just found out I have a hellva trans leak from the pan. I ordered the gasket and the sent me two differ gaskets. I have an auto. Anyone know the part # or which gasket it could be by describing it? I got the gaskets from Napa. Any help would be good.

Thanks

BTW this is for an 89 5.0 kinda forgot.
The gaskets are labeled as so

A4LD 2WD 89-UP
AOD (FIOD)

Im presuming AOD is the one.

Well, as far as I know the autos in the fox bodys back then were AODs that is the 4 speeds, the ones prior to that were C-4s or C-5s I believe. You can get a chrome transmission pan for that transmission from Ford Motorsports for cheap with a drainplug in it, they don't make them for the newer autos, we have to spend over a hundred bucks for a cast aluminum B&M one if we want something like that.

what is the problem with draining it and taking the pan off and just seeing which gasket works?

Tire - cause I was at work when Napa came and gave me those parts. So i was asking I do believe thats the whole point of messageboard right..right.

Now I fixed the issue on Friday me and my friend did the job and yes it was the AOD I pretty much figured that. But Napa got me all confuzzled when they sent me two differ gasket kits.

Fun job let me tell ya esp on slanted driveway
