I gained 6 RWHP with the Densecharger on the Dyno I changed to a MAC and did not loose a thing????? Now saying that being that I have a 98 I did not have a full length but a meter forward so I cannot say without a doubt the full length on the 99+ does not make better HP

99+ go with a full length Densecharger unless you want the bling then go with a MAC or a cheap clone
94-98 MAC or cheap clone

DO all intakes give the same performance. Like for instance which CAI gives better performance: the densecharger or MAC?

the full length densecharger will probably give you a slightly higher gain than the mac... however I dont know about the meter forward densecharger. All i know is when i ordered mine, i talked to John personally and the guy gave me an upgraded filter for no charge. That guy strives for customer satisfaction, and personally Id give my money to him because of just that.

If I'd ever do it again, id look at the K&N FIPK. The mac is ok, just too much money spent on it being bling. Densecharger *could* cause MAF sampling issues. I have no proof on the v6, but GT guys have been complaining about the sharp bend right before the maf. (this also exists on the GT mac cai, but our design is different, so who knows).

According to Alberto at American Motorsports (The guy I'm getting a chip from on the suggestion of RGR) the 90* bend before the MAF can cause up to a 3% variance in the MAF reading, which can cause the A/F ratio to be off up to about 3 points.

you have to remember, those tests were done on a forced induction car, which will benefit from the slightest change of air temperature
in an N/A car, there is only so much temperature can do to effect the performance
in a forced induction car, the air gets "super heated" when its compressed, which pushes air temperatures to at times well over 200* over ambiant, and even say a 20 degree drop in temperature could help drop air temperatures enough to make a serious power difference, thats why forced induction cars that are intercooled can make so much more power than non-intercooled
a friend of my put a power stroke intercooler in his daytona, and that cooler kept air temps usually around ambiant temperatures, and on cooler nights, it was actually colder than ambiant, the car would just rip, never had a hint of detonation or anything

If you have O3- 04 Cobra you do not under any circumstance get a CAI with a bend before the MAF. There have been several documented problems with surging at Idle and off the line momentary hesitation.
