third member problems

I'm trying to switch out my gears and my thrid member is like 40 years old and has never been off and pretty much rusted on so how can i get it off. |

not exactly sure what a third member is... but would air tools take care of it??

the third member is the gears that go into the pumkin and all the bolts are off I just cant get it out of the pumkin |

dont isntall gears your self if you have no training, formal training.... else you are just delaying the fact that pro will have to redo your screw up.... its not easy and should not be attempted by someone who doesnt know what they are doing you have to shim the rear and set the backlash correct or you will have horrible whinning and the gears will nto wear right.

I don't know if the diff is basicly the same in mine ('00), but after the back cover is off and the bolts on the C shaped retainers are off, I used a prybar to pop mine loose.

SSM ported intakes and a FLEX 1/2 spacer, RPM ported heads and a 207 cam. SCT chip.

it ends up there were some copper washes from the factory that locked the thrid memeber to the housing and i got it out and got my new gears in fine and there is no whining what so ever the car runs great thanks for all the help |
