03 Cobra vs 01 Corvette convertible

My friend's mom owns a 01 Corvette convertible automatic which my friend drives all the damn time. He said he raced a 03 Cobra and they were side by side. Is this b.s. or he is right? Please say he is b.s.ing me and the 03 Cobra whooped him.
