http://www.congress.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z?d108:H.R.163:
Is the actual text. Your link states the administration is trying to get it passed. The list of sponsor and co-sponsors reads right out of the list of leftist nutcases of Congress. I doubt the administration is behind passing this one at all. Fritz "KKK" Hollings is the only senate sponsor. Not exactly a favorite of the administration now is he?
congress.org is owned by Issue Dynamics, Inc http://idi.net/ which isn't exactly an unbiased and reliable source, search the listed "officers" of IDI. More lies and misdirection from the left. Accuse the opposition of doing what it is that the left is doing.
Next.

dont worry, theres not gonna be a draft. we dont need one anyways, theres enough people who sign on willing everyday that even if they stopped we have reserves and reserves for the reserves.
but i would not mind a draft. it would get my ass motivated and out of bed in the morning. sometimes i wish i wouldve joined the air force like i was gonna do out of high school and go top gun baby. instead i felt like sitting on my ass at my piddly shit job and accomplish nothing.
were already having this discussion on the DSMtuners.com forums. ite getting pretty heated but civil. basically people are saying theyll only draft if theres a WW3, which is likely to happen(johntitor.com for those who are open minded), and if youre not you can see the world is slowly tearing itself apart over this whole middle east thing. it is inevitable. but am i tripping? nope. if it happens, so be it. right before the draft id enlist in the army as a hummer repairs tech, that way, when i got done kicking ass, id get hired for GM making 50$ an hour fixing H2's all day long. just like my uncle is doing.

What a pile of crap. There will be no draft, they are having to delay enlist people now because they dont have the room at basic training. Typical wait for enlistees is about 4 months. How do you pass a bill secretly MUHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHA. It would be immediately picked up by the media and the democrates. BS BS BS
There is a good reason for not bring back the draft, VIETNAM!!!! The military found out you do better with a volunteer army that a army of people who dont want to be there!!!

Wow, me too.
All I did was go to congress.GOV and did a search on HR 163, which is Charlie Rangel's bill to bring back the draft.
Steve
PS: Charlie is a Dem, so are most of the co-sponsors.

There wont be a draft so why keep this up. Who is wanting a draft. Whoever votes on a draft will be booted out of office at the next election cycle
The military does not want people that dont want to be there. It creates bad discipline problems and lack of cohesion within units
Like I said There is a delay of 4 to 6 months just to join any service because they cannot process people thru Basic and tech school fast enough.
If you believe their will be a draft you must also believe in the tooth fairy and the boogie man
