widest tire on a 8 inch rim.

I was wondering what would be the widest tire I could get on a 17 x 8 rim. The stock 245's are a little low on tread....well in the back for the most part and I was wondering how wide of a tire I could get on those rims. Thanks.

you could put 275/40/17s on that for sure... i dunno bout much bigger though

ok cool, I just checked and the stock tires do come in the size too so I don't have to buy 4 tires to keep them all the same type and it'll cost less just buying 2
