its up to you. I dont feel like constantly shifting all the time so i got a Auto. Just throw a shift kit and tranny cooler and the auto comes alive. But if you really want a Manual go for it.
Just up to you

it works right... it just likes to leave about 6-7 spots on my driveway if i park there over night. IM constantly filling the bastard up with more tranny fluid. PITA!!! I just want the thing to die so i can get a 5 spd but i cant make it obvious that i killed it (such as runnin it with no fluid lol)
edit - and yes, it did all this crap even before i beat the crap out of it with nitrous

not really. Ford Autos tend to like to die around 100k miles. If you abuse a auto or 5 speed it will die eventually. A T-5 cant handle alot of Torque. Neither can the AODE

It all depends on the Transmission. A well built Automatic is just as good as a well built Manual. Ford Autos arent built very well. The T-5 is built decent. Just dont put alot of torque through it. Or it wont last long

auto's are so gay.
Shifting is not that much of a hastle at all. I dont know why u pu**ies think it's so hard. LOL
I dont like driving auto's id rather drive a standard in any car i own.
The v6 t-5 is a good tranny. It just isnt built to last with huge power.
But rebuilding them is simple.

Uh... A built 4R70W (99+) can handle 800+ horsepower. That's not enough for your 160hp V6?

well, when u have a laptop computer and or (at times) your wireless PDA, also all the other crap i have to put up with , a auto is the best. I wish Ford would build a auto Cobra, then Police dept can use them also. (around here PD's dont like to shift, same with me)

nope it twas the 01 Cobra engine, the 99 had a tick fix that needed to be altered otherwise the engine would eventually need to be replaced under warranty. the 03 mach1 also has that problem if it was produced prior to Aug. and it develops this tick, its a ford faq, and gets replaced free of charge by ford!
Which we hope we dont eventually run into on ours, since it was produced in june of 03'

Ok this is the real deal. TRUTH:People who love manuals will never like auto's until they are 35 or 40. TRUTH: A AUTO AODE OR 4R70W can handle anything you can give it in a N/A car or supercharged way past 550HP if you have it built right LIKE MINE!!!! LIE: Manuals last longer then Auto's. The fact is Most hard core modders willl go through several clutches before a Auto will die. Most weekend racers I know with Manuals have had to replace gears and synchro's but in all fairness manuals are cheaper and easier to fix!!!
I had manuals all my life. All my camaros were manuals except my 74, I dont mind either but I am really enjoying my Auto PATC Interceptor Tranny
