I was thinking of eithier buying a gt mustang now and then pay off my cavalier or I should wait a year or two, and then get a 04 svt!!! I like the waiting idea because I will have money saved up but what do you guys think or what would you do???

It all depends on what you owe on your...cavalier... It may be worth it to go ahead and wait and get more worth out of the cavalier before buying something else. If it was me... I'd probably wait...cuz being in debt sucks

I have like 3 or 4,000 left on the cavy, but Im not doin much to it except a kit and a wing. Also do you think that bI could find a decent SVT with good miles on it if I waited 1-2 years??

The 04 cobra has 395hp if i recall correctly. And i don't have the specs on the Gt memorized. If i get a chance here in a minute i'll run to the local SVT dealer and find it out lol. I love big cities like this. All i plan to do tomorrow is ride around the dealerships.

save up and put lots down on the svt, cause i can tell youre young and insurance will rape you, youll want all the advantages you can get.
id say pay off the cavi, then save, then buy the cobra. and have 2 cars. cavi for the daily grind, and the cobra for the weekend runs.
and what kit are you getting for the cavi? ive only seen a few that look good. and by kitting you are gonna paint it right, cause unpainted kits are bad. the only time it sould be driven unpainted is from home to the paint shop.
and just think, kit+paint is more money that could go to the cobra................

Its a "drift" style kit, but I dont know about saving the cavi though!! Because when I get the SVT HOPEFULLY, iM NOT DOIN MUCH BUT PERFORMANCE PARTS. But ofcourse Im getting the kit painted, I hate when people ride without it painted.

Why are you buying and painting a kit when you're going to sell the Cavalier in 1-2 years? That's just more money you could be putting towards the Cobra. Or something actually worthwhile.

Well Its a little late because Ive already recieved the kit and wing. I dunno, should I sell them and save it towards the cobra?? And Im not painting the whole car now, just the kit.

Do you think the kit will increase or decrease the resale value of the car? It will probably (read: definitely) decrease it. So if you put the kit on and paint it.. You're going to be paying for it twice. Once when you buy it, and then again when you sell it.
I, personally, would sell the kit. But 1-2 years is a good amount of time. You might enjoy it while you've got it.

Well I think the question is do you have any idea how to work on engines? I'm not anti 4.6, it has alot of potential, but I like the 5.0 way better. I would go for a older 5.0 and then you'll be able to get parts WAY cheaper. I think you can get parts at wal-mart for god's sake. They're so common. I think a 4.6 looks kinda tricky to work on. I'm sure it's not, I just never have. Something I think you should consider also.
