i have been milling around in my head about my next car. do 393's tend to have oiling problems, or has a friend just gotten a badly built motor? i know the stroked v6's ran into some similar problems and wanted to know general tendencies. would not drilling the little ends of your rods to help lube the rod bolts, and windage tray, etc, i could go on, help to alleviate any oiling problems?.

the 408+'s get into big money FAST. is there a real reason why they hike up so much for just a few more cubes?

if you get a good stroker kit, have block well machined, you shouldn't have oiling problems. however, the life of the bigger (393-427) stroker engines is only like 20k miles. I am not sure on why the bigger kits get more expensive, maybe machining costs?

perhaps. i have access to cheap machine work and motor building assistance (ok, a friend that'll do what i want for cheap), maybe this would not be a bad idea for a 393.
