04 3.9 v6

I heard that some of the 2004's are 3.9 while the others are still 3.8 is that true. I was looking under my hood one day and everything that it said about my car had to do with 3.9. So it looks to me, thats what it is. Is that true?

theres really no difference at all... i still dont know why ford calls it a 3.9

they upped the displacment just a little amount. They also got rid of the 3.8 because that engine was associated with the POS Ford Windstar minivan. In 2004 they introduced the Freestar minivan which uses a 3.9L engine. It is basically identical to the 3.8. All performance parts will be the same in fitment
