I Have a 93 mustang 4 cyl and I wanted to convert it to a V-8. Do I have to get a 8.8 rearend,V-8 computer. If so what other parts do I have to get from the V-8 mustang like the GAUGE CLUSTER? Firaboy74@msn.com
what you NEED (i may forget some things so i'll edit them in later)
5.0 with all accessories
5.0 throttle cable
5.0 bellhousing (94-95 will work but you can't use long tube headers with it)
double hump transmission crossmember
exhaust
A9L (5sp) or A9P (auto but will work with 5sp) computer
5.0 fuel lines
engine harness preferably of the closest year you can possibly find (at least 89+ for mass air)
clutch
thats all i can think of for now. this is just bare necessities by the way, you SHOULD get a world class T5, 8.8 rear, complete brake system, and much more.
it's not an easy undertaking. best way to go is find a wrecked 5.0 and swap over anything at all that's different.
u could probably sell the 4cyl and buy a fox 5.0 cheaper. They are everywhere

i have done it myself.... it's not too bad, you'll also need the brake lines from the rearend to the motor bay. and, you can use the brake system currently on the car... it's alot better if you get the master cylendr off of a v-8.... you will have much better braking then using the stock 4cyl parts.
if you go manual to manual, you'll also need the driveshaft, auto to auto, the drive shaft is interchangeable.
