if you have never owned a black car you will soon see the evilness (is that a word?) of it lol keep it CLEAN EVERY WEEK and keep the bugs off of it EVERY WEEK REGARDLESS even if thats all you do once a week keep all the bugs off the front. black is evil. OH and you cant wash it out in the sun or at all with car wash and water its not possible to many water spots... try that mr clean stuff but still expect spots it will just really help

or get a beater car and you don't have to wash it every week, just get a cali duster. Black cars may be hard to keep clean, but they are soooooooo gorgeous when clean

you cant do that in the sun but i alwasy do mine in my garage, i never wash it wish the hose or anything i alwasy do it in sections using just a bottle of distiled water and a towel (cotton) cleans it with no spots its the only way you can get it clean enough for me.

and this is why I have a silver car... car wash is over in 2-3 hours .... and I don't usually have to worry about water spots. Of course, I do the tires, rims, car, plastics, everything. Drying is first priority, after that, anything goes... but I don't go insane over keeping it clean... and I live on a gravel road she gets dirty easily

I use the hose on mine once in a while when I have to scrub my nasty top, by the way, any body got any tips on top cleaning or protectorants? I have been using Simple Green and sometimes I use greased lightening. I do this in the shade, and immediately I dry with a chamois, I use a spray wheel cleaner at the same time, it doesn't do that well, still need to be polished afterwards. The rest of the car just gets a rinse, otherwise I use Meguires products daily on the paint, NXT wax renewer, mist detailer, or spray wax, nothing else, oh, Turtle wax 2001 on the tires, and some of that Eagle gause polish on my wheels.
