Simple, people of my generation saw how the people of our parent's generation raised kids and rejected it. We looked back to our grandparents as examples of how to raise children, not the "Dr. Spock" me generation of our parents.
Your job, as a parent can be simply defined. It is your job to provide the best start in life for your children. If you can not, or will not, do so then do not have children.
Among other things that children need to learn is discipline. They also need to learn that life isn't fair. That a person needs to be challenged to excel in life. Totally and completely opposite of the baby boomer mentality.

Well, is it that we dont have family problems, or we are so used to seeing it everyday that we dont think of it as a problem? As for the sex, were too busy with skool, jobs, and worrying about all the STD's to want to have sex. And for the weed smoking, yes its declined because kids are now doing heavier drugs and popping pills like they are candy.

around here, it does seem like pill popping and harder drugs, like cocaine, are on the rise, but I would say overall drug use, especially marijuana, is declining by a significant amount.
