You need upper and lower intakes, heads, all egr parts, coil pack, and the tricky part...modified fuel rails.

The only advantage I've seen to the pre-99 intakes is the ability to run boost better due to the 6 runners on the pre-99 intake compared to the 12 runners on the 99-04 intake.

the thing is i can probably get a s/c'd thunderbird/ cougar for 500-600 bucks, with decent miles.. new england is the BEST place to buy cars when your simply looking for a motor.a few new england winters = a whole lot of body rot= real cheap asking price especially since alot of older people own those cars aropund here, so they only see that the cars has rediculous rust and rot not that it has a sc'd 3.8 with 70k on it.=me getting a complete 3.8 sc'd for 500-600 bucks.

600 for motor add in the cost of a rebuild (be stupid to slap in a motor you dont know about with out a rebuild) plus all wiring and computer and all the little this and that and in the end you wind up with a decent car that runs high to mid 13s. not much faster than heads/intakes/cam and bolt ons will do. just something to think about.

oh oh now i see what you mean.. what i meant was geting the motor out, using that as a donor to mine, heads, upper/lower's, injectors, wiring, tb all that stuff , and using my main.though suppose if that was the case, forged intern's would be a real good idea. so i dont end up like that cobra. heh
