I would like to order a MAC Flowpath "bolt on" muffler for my 3.9 V6 Mustang. I have already read the thread about exaust and as far as I understood they say that the size of standard pipe is 2 inches. I tried to measure mine and it seems to be bigger 2 1/4 or 2 1/2 inches; I'm not sure and I want to get the right size.
Is it possible to know the exact size of the pipe ?
In the meantime what's your opinion about this muffler ?
Thanks in advance !
BP

I would highly (and I do mean Highly) recommend buying two and then taking them to a muffler shop and have the put on.
Trust me the difference is night and day

Yes, I was thinking to get one, I don't want to go for performance but I'm looking for a different sound then a Lincoln, I like this car very much, performance, handling, the way we feel it and the way it reacts in curves, the only thing that doesn't please me it's that it doesn't make more sound than a limousine...
That's why I tought than one could do the difference I'm looking for...
By the way, do you know if there is any risk that the fact to change the muffler could void the warranty ?

When I wrote these lines I didn't notice your last comment
What do you mean by difference ?

Sound difference performance difference.
Plus it looks weird.
I would just save up the extra money and by 2 flowpaths and take them and get them put on. Because your going to have to pay to have just one put on you might as well get to.
The muffler shop will run you new pipes to the second one and it will sound so much better.

I totally agree, don't get the MAC bolt on POS. Go for a true dual exhaust and let your engine breathe. You'll need to do 1 of two things. Either have a muffler shop cut your exhaust and weld in a dual exhaust setup, or buy a kit and install it yourself. As for the pipe size, it is 2". Itry measuring inside the tube and see what you get.

Thanks to all of you !
Finally, I'll go for the double...Your comments made sense to me good sound and the engine will breathe easier...
Thanks again
