i have seen a few do this: 99-00 spoiler moved back like 2"... i know it can be done but i am wonering obviously new holes must be drilled....Sooo does the spoiler hide the first holes from the factory? I would seriously consider this, if I don't have to fill them. I will probably do it if all they need is plugs. Someone please find out for me!
Thanks
Ted

Very easy to do. I did it on my last mustang. Unbolt the spoiler from inside the trunk. Only move it back far enough so that it still covers the old holes. Mark your holes by laying the spoiler on top of the deck lid and outlining the bolts. Then cover the drill areas and surrounding areas in masking tape (prevents paint from spiderwebbing), and drill. Easy as that. As long as you don't move it too far back, you don't need to fill the holes. 20 min project, looks hot.

Thanks! Does anyone have pictures that really show how much better this looks? It seems like the spoiler is really holding mine back right now. makes it look too squatty. I like the idea of making it look sleeker so I hope this will work.

I checked but don't have any pictures of mine. I had gotten nothing but compliments about the relocation....it looks sportier. Guarantee you'll like it if you do it. I did until my sister totalled that mustang.....

Naw, I should have known better than to let her drive it from the start, Shes crashed every car we've ever had....including our F-150 into our Volvo right after we bought the F-150. Let's just say I've learned my lesson, and she doesn't touch this mustang.

you just figure out how far you can move it back and still hide the stock holes then just mark and drill the new holes 99-00 are very easy to do.

not on my car, but if you can determine how far back you need to move it you can measure and make a template, just BE SURE that you have enough spoiler to cover up the front hole that you will not use. All you really have to worry about is measuring a few times and use a template to kind of help and make sure there is enough spoiler to cover the holes back up. I belive mustangworld has a how to that you can read they will tell you how far to move it back.

If you really wanted to you could also buy some rubber plugs to fill in the old holes to insure there is no leakage. I plan on doing this soon and that's what I'm gonna do. That way I'm absolutely sure it doesn't leak.

A little tip for if you decide that you do want to move it back further, the holes are very easy to fill. Just get a couple of those small rubber screw type things (forgot the name of them) that you push in to attach body panels. Paint the top with nail polish, push it right in there and you're good to go. Actually covers it extremely well. I did that for a buddy who wanted to mount a big spoiler for racing, but wanted to be able to remove it for when he was on the streets so he didnt look like a ricer. Just a tip though.

I have a different spoiler, it has the ''tips'' outside the screwed on uprights, I guess that's what I can call them...., and yeah, I love it... much better looking than the 99-00 spoilers in my opinion

it's all about opinions...i could have gotten that one but this one just works better with my car. If i decide to go with the black spoiler look i'll buy one of those, but this one looks best imo
