What feature do you feel was added to the 2010 mustang that really wasnt needed... more of just something else to say you have than anything.
I consider the back up camera like this as the car isnt that long or big (not yet anyways) so its not really needed...
Its nice to say its an option I guess but not something i would really care about or use much~

I like the concept, but I do think it is something that is not needed. You want to see the sky, buy a drop top.
Abso-freaking-lutely.
Are they still offering the multi-colored guage cluster adjustment thing-a-ma-bob? If so, then that is over kill.
I'd probably have to look at the features being offered to really say what is over kill...but personally, anything beyond heater, A/C, radio, CD/MP3 player, decent sound, optional navigation, and traction control is over kill. Don't need any fancy outdoor temp displays, or heated seats, or power seats, or any of that mumbo jumbo. Just give me a motor, a way to warm up/cool off, and some tunes and I am all set.

I have mycolor on my wife's car, and it was nice to change the gauges from that ugly green to a nice blue. but the downfall is my wife changes it to pink.

Car, yes... truck, no. I wish I had a back up camera when I used to have my boat. It would have made getting it hitched up alone MUCH easier and far less time consuming.
Plus, I wouldnt have that big dent in my suburban's license plate anymore either

I would not consider power seats or heated seats overkill. 2 cars with power seats, 2 cars without. Power seats a must have. Rear view camera overkill. T-tops need to stay safely in the seventies.

Power and Heated seats are for luxury cars...not pony and sports cars. Just more shit to add weight. Want heated seats or need to sit there and wait 5 minutes for the seat to fully move forward or back when you need to move it, then get a caddy.

I dont think you would blow it out of the water. Win probably, but it would still be a decent race.

Modified...sure. Stock...No.
~460 rwhp (556 bhp) + 4200 lbs (manual) will not blow a pullied, ported, and tuned 500+ rwhp 3800 lb car out of the water...unless you are just comparing the hit to the wallet.

I agree. after I posted my last post. I went and did this same math. If anything the termi would blow the cts-v out of the water.

I can't really say any OPTION is overkill. Anything to make Fords more appealing to the masses is ok by me.
"Necessary. Is it necessary for me to drink my own urine? No, but I do it anyway because it is sterile and I like the taste" -Dodgeball
I'd be upset if things like backup became standard and I was forced to pay for it but I don't mind it being available for someone who will actually appreciate it.

i agree that a mustang doesn't really need a backup camera. when backing up i can actually see better behind me than i can in my girlfriends mazda 3. if you want a camera though Peak, out of all companies, sells a backup camera for about $100.

as long as its configurable so you dont have bloated stuff adding extra weight its not a huge deal I dont guess... just dont check the box. But if its built in and adds weight I dont care for that type of setup.

T tops would be really nice but i believe that they would have some major leakage problems at first. The back up camera is pretty worthless on a mustang but there's things like that for every car anyways.

Yeah, the transluscent roof is overkill, big time. It's bad enough that it's on the corvette, now it's on the mustang.

Yeah, the backup camera is total horseshit. I could understand being in a minivan or a huge ass 4x4 pickup, but a mustang?

Rear view is useless on an S197 Vert. Yeah I laughed and walked away from the installers doing that one.

But remember, you see a lot of housewives and women driving the standard mustangs and some gt's. Offering things like "backup cameras", glass roofs, and power/heated seats are things that attract the potential female buyers. And if they can add these options and still pay less than 25k for a new mustang (v6 coupe), hell the mustang will never die off.
I personally don't care for these options, an engine, solid drivetrain, supporting options to maintain the engine, and a decent sound system is good enough for me.
But from a female's perspective, these options are appealing and attractive.

The glassback option is actually really nice, and it also stiffens up the chassis a good bit, but I'm sure it also adds a good bit of weight.

Oy Upton 7, watch it mush, I'm 59, own an 08 Shelby & prior to that an 06 GT, I'm not a bloody teacher , neither am I an old man trying to pull young birds (Although I wouldn't say no if one threw themselves @ me ) I drive my car because it's an American Icon, I love the raw power, the looks , the sound , & to piss kids off @ the lights in their Asian sewing machines. Who are you to say Mustangs are the province of only the young !!!!!!

back up camera, i dunno about the roof, mixed on that one, i personally don't like motor seats, or heated seats. i kinda wish my mustang didn't have all the auto stuff in it, windows maybe, only cause i wouldn't be able to reach it, but door locks? those are easy enough to grab from any seat.
i'm with most of you about just give me the basics, but i almost think ac in some areas isn't needed, if it gets to hot on those 5 days outa the year, just drive faster
