I was driving to Hooters today for my lunch break (thursday tradition) and ran across a new body style Mach 1. Pretty decent looking car, white with a black stripe down the side at the bottom and black in front of the little hood scoop. Didn't sound bad at all. Aren't these supposed to be faster than GT's but slower than Cobra's? I didn't get a chance to mess with him, but would I have wanted to?

2003-2004 Mach 1's are a nice mustang. They come with a 4.6L 4valve motor. 305-310 horse stock. They blackout the grille, spoiler and add a shker hoodscoop. tape stripes on rocker panels and part off the hood. Different wheels, same tires as GT. New guages and seats. Very close to the same E.T.'s of a new GTO. They also keep the live axle but step up to a 3.55 gear instead of 3.27 gears.

It would be a very good race but if the 350 horse GTO has trouble wasting it why would a trans am "light it up"? Mach 1's are incredible performers and HOT ROD magazine tested a 04 GT, Mach 1 And Cobra and they chose the Mach 1 as the best all around vehicle!

both have ram air?... I think so, but hell, I don't know... which one's ram air is better? that might play a small factor... plus, the Mach 1 is lighter .... go Mach 1

Your HP numbers are a little low. I put 300hp to the wheels in bone stock trim. With 15% drivetrain losses, that comes out to nearly 350 at the crank (GM won't advertise that F-Bodies make 'vette-like power ). It sounds like it would be a close race...gonna have to hunt one down .

a good driver in a mach 1 will do 13.0-13.3's so they are not that slow dont under estimate one.

The mach 1s are under rated for hp as well though. and the reason they keep up with cobras in the 1/4 is the solid rear axle. a cobra will smoke it in the high end though.
