Hey Yall.
I have decided to garage the stang for the winter. I would like something with a box or at least something that can pull a light trailer. As it sits my wife and I have the Mustang and her Focus. I am thinking of something along the lines of an el camino or a 9C1 Caprice cop car or F71 Police Interceptor Crown Vic. A little s-10 or ranger would work as well but I like to drive things unique or different. I want to spend no more than $1500. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Ted

Explorer... my paint/auto guy had one that lasted him 230,000 miles before he got rid of it with NO problems, and I know just how damned hard he was on it. It would go through just about anything too.... '92 maybe?.. maybe newer, '95? I can't remember, I had a '97 F-150 that'd out burn rubber than him, and was unconcerned with it I guess.

i would not go with a cv just b/c there rwd, i hated driving the blazer we had as a rental. but the s-10s are nice trucks but if u want fun i think u can get a ranger with the towing package that comes with a 4.0 liter ( i beleve) and has a set of 4.10s out back and i think they can even get 4wd

Thanks for all of the suggestions even though I hope your not done. I think a police interceptor would be cool or a caprice with the LT1 in it.I was even considering a Fiero or El Camino. I do not worry in the winter time too bad. I will invest in some Bridgestone Blizzak's for whatever i get. Plus, I love driving and fishtailing in the winter time! This is one of my excuses to get another toy however it cannot be to expensive. I would just love to pickup an older 5.0 for 1000-1500. The whole thing is I don't want to get all of the shit on my car in the winter and I want to keep the miles down on it.

you can probably find a decent-mileage lumina or monte carlo 98-99 series for about 3k... if not less (gotta love high depreciation..) with the 3800 engine - plenty of torque for towing.. you'd likely just need to add your own hitch
