thanks for all the help
edit the tq converter will be a 3k stall from PI

Well with a tq converter and gears the car will defintaly launch a lot quicker off the line. But upgrading the suspension really works great as well. It will help with transfering the weight to the rear tires, eliminate wheel hop for better traction. I would do subframe connectors, shocks/springs, and also lower control arms. And also a softer tire for improved traction the factory tires suck!

with a tq converter and a tune to set shift points correctly along with a jerry mod and 4.10s you should shave a massive amount of time off your car, the gears along will do .3 tenths or more with those mods i would say a low low 15 if you can get some sticky tires and a little suspension and cut a 1.9 or better you should be able to do 14s perhaps. it depends on the tq converter and alot of this and thats, but with all the bolt ons and a tq converter, gears, tune to set shift points and all other stuff you should be able to do high to mid 14s with good launches.

a torque converter will take off 0.5-0.6sec off your ET alone and then gears about .3. So that will be almost 1.0sec off your current ET.

well heres my goal, im thinking between 4.10s(t-lok), a PI 3000 stall tc, correct shift points and firmsness, and a good bit of suspension work and some sticky tires and the bolt ons im hoping for a 14.5 after im good. now 4.10s AND the limited slip make up to .5 off my e.t right? and im guessing the gears are just .3 or am i mistaken? i kno this is not and exact science but im just wondering.thanks

no, since you have a 99+, you already have 3.27 gears so 4.10s and t-lock will only take off about .3 maybe .4 off your ET. It will take off .5 off a pre99 though

since you are starting life with a 16.0 in an auto... gears/tlok/boltons/tq converter/jerry mod with chip to calibrate shift points and all that you should be capable of doing 14.9s and then some pretty easy... with out heads/cam/intakes i dont see you doing 13s (or n20, power adder, etc)

my end goal is a 13s n/a auto.
I'm at high 14s with a shitty 60'. 4.10s should help my 60' and get me mid 14s. then when I get my new heads/cam I go for 13s n/a.
Its very hard with an auto. I've already gained 8-9mph over my stock 1/4 runs...and that already impressive.

is there any way to be able to plant this power well? im guessing between 4.10s and a PI 3k stall TC i would have massive amounts of wheels spin off of any line and i dont really want that. would a set of LCA. springs, shocks and struts helps this much or am i just going to have to deal with the smoke . my thought is if i can reduce the spin i can get a really really hard launch.

Hey Oaktonarcher,
Yes springs struts and LCA's would really help the weight transfer and traction at the drag strip. They would plant the rear tires for better launch.

tires would help more than anything.
Get some DR's with a nice sidewall and dorp the pressure. I dead-hook my 255/45/16 Dr's with a relatively short burnout @ 22psi

Stangin, what mods you have currently? You seem to be wanting to do the same exact thing I want, build a beast of a NA motor, then save up and get a charger
