So, what do you guys think.. I know they are just about the same car .. I am seeing used 08 Bullitts for $25k or less ....with like 5k miles ... Will the 08 Bullitt be a keeper ???

i think because its a speciality item that it will be worth it later for value. personally im not a fan of it and the new gts have the same engine set up. i would rather get the new gt over the buillet. but id rather stick to a s197 style just because i like the style better apperance wise. new mustang is too swoopy and the built is too plain looking for my taste.

I'd rather have a 2010 Mustang in the color of my choice. Bullitt is to bland for me.

Its not going to be worth anything, look at the 01 Bullitts... just as much as the GT for the most part. Go with a 2010 you will enjoy it more having the first of a new style and such.

NowI agree with you on one spot .. It doent have that swoopy look like the 2010. on the other hand I like it because it dont have all the regular GT stuff ...no wing, no fake hood scoop, no grill fog lights .. It even looks BETTER dirty...lol...

I am going to buy a 2010 mustang however I wonder if Ford is planning on making a 2010 BULLITT edition later in the year? Has anyone heard anything about this? I was primed to buy the 2009 BULLITT until I saw the new design of the 2010..
Thanks,
Tom

I just read an article in Mustang Monthly's February issue, it sounds like there will be performance packages available. Also it seems like there are similarities to the 2008 Bullitt built right into the GT model and you can have a color other than green. I quoted from the article, if anybody wants I can scan it in and send it to them in a pdf file.
"For five speed manuals, shifter improvements inspired by the Bullitt program are seen on the polished aluminum and leather-wrapped knob on the short throw shifter.
Handling improvements for the 2010 Mustang came from Ford's experience with the '08 Bullitt and Ford Racing Mustangs. Springs, stabilizers bars, and shocks have been adjusted to better balance the ride, steering, and handling for base and GT models. Wheel and tire sizes are increased by an inch across the line, with a 17-inch standard on the V-6 and an 18-inch standard on the GT. A 19-inch Perelli Summer tire is optional for the GT and comes with a Bullitt-inspired tower-to-tower brace to add torsional and lateral stiffness to the chassis. Seven different wheels are offered as standard or optional equipment, including two different 19" versions."
There will also be a few different packages available.
"GT Track I package will include a 3:73 rear axle ratio, performance front brake pads and a recalibrated Advance Trac. To that the GT Track II package adds performance rear brake pads, GT500 stabilizer bars and rear lower control arms, retuned struts and shocks, 19-inch Perelli Summer tires, and carbon fiber plates in the 3.73 differential."

First .. I really have no problem with a green car .. I have had green Firebirds and Olds in the past .. That article means that the 08 Bullitt is superior to the regular GT , which is why I think it will be a good car .. and what they call a track pac comes with the Bullitt .. I think Bullits are 5 speeds , not sure tho

This reminds me of the '84 model year that promised 205 h.p. then in '85 increased to 210 h.p. They could do like the SVO model and have a mid-year change (IE) 85.5 (205 h.p.) . "ANYWAY" I wonder will they speak up and clear the RUMOR air.

I don't suspect they will make any announcement until further into the 09 model year. They won't because they need to sell 09's to keep things going...and announcing that if you wait another 11-12 months you can get 80ish more hp and a brand new engine platform....they will lose a lot of 09 sales.
As for the bullit question, I hope they don't come out with it...again. Hopefully they ditch a lot of the "special editions" that keep sprouting up. Have one or two throwbacks per model year, not 100 different "special editions".

I kinda agree with that .. because the 'special editions' really are not that special.. They could us something in the Z28,RS, SS type mold because GT is a GT period ... I hope we get the mod. motor .. But it really depends on what you want .. Me I just want a GT as a DD .. it would be nice to have a choice tho ...

im not being a pain in the butt but thats kinda not true, i never saw it in writing, this is true. I dont know how many of you watch overhauling, i dont really miss any of these shows, rides, overhauling, and many others. there was an episode last year where they did a 67 or 68 stang and they put the brand new boss 302 engine and the guy from for said it should be avaiable to the public in 2010. trust me i wouldnt forget somthing like that lol

I think they meant available to purchase as a crate motor. Not available in the Mustang.

I have to say, I really like the look of the new 2010. Gives the New Edges a run for their money IMO.

are bullitts being traded in for 2010 mutangs or just because people aren't happy with them?
