He spent all his money on the monitors.
My guess is he doesn't need it for anything but multitasking, though 2GB of ram is the very min I'd run for something that was meant for multitasking across 8 monitors.

Hell I already want to fill the 2 extra RAM slots in my comp with another 4 gigs!  (not that i need it at all, but more that i just can)

I run 8GB in mine. Ram is so cheap you might as well. Just make sure it's the exact same kind.
