So Wednesday when I was in Georgia for the job interview, the guy gave me a verbal job offer pending my drug test (which was clean as hell) and my references (clean too). So he calls me on Friday and expresses his worry that I am too reserved and shy and blah blah for this sales job, but still wants to fly me out to start possibly on Monday. I call him up today because I haven't heard from him to see when I was going to fly out. He is now interviewing another person because he is still nervous about hiring me. "[I am] not energetic enough" and "[he] cannot get a good read on [me]".

so now that I was counting on that verbal job offer as a job, and now he makes it sound like he is retracting it. I am broke and it is pissing me off. I need a career job and I thought this was it.

What a dick, if he wasn't sure, he should not have said anything and get your hopes up. that is just wrong. I hate people that don't respect other people's time. Don't worry something will come along, or maybe this A$$ will come to his senses. good luck

I feel ya on the job offers and then taking it away happen to me 3 times last year when I really needed a job (reasoning on why I had to get rid of my 6-er)

Things will turn out for the best man it always does at some point you never know when but it'll happen and you'll be like damn about ****ing time son woot

why not call him up and ask him to take a chance on you?... I mean, he obviously liked you enough to ''offer'' you the job. Why not tell him you'll prove his suspicions wrong.

Sorry to hear about this turn. If I were you I would call him and tell him your concerns about his wishy washy behavior. I think he is trying to see how desperate you are and try to low ball you. He sounds like just the kind of person you dont want to work for.

Corey - I called this morning and that is how I heard this information. NO dont get me wrong I would never suggest telling him ****off. Just that you are concerned about his flip flopping. A job for the sake of a job is done in desperation and onlyb should be done in emergencies. Brondon you need to look at the job market here in the Sunbelt Greenville, Charlotte, Columbia, Raleigh/ Duram, Atlanta all have not suffered much as the rest of the country during the last Recession.

It's just that I don't live in that area right now and thus local interviews are impossible. Most companies do not want to fly someone out if they are not totally interested in the individual. I would have no problem with living there, but it is difficult to get a job outside of where I currently live.
