It's hard to say, I personally haven't heard of any auto tranny problems from 2002. Your car SHOULD..... be under warrenty still. Take it back to Ford and have them figure it out.

Um, I'm not sure. I've never had to deal with a warrenty with my cars cause I buy them used. Maybe someone else will know. Sorry I can't be of more help. Do a search w/ a keyword of warrenty or warrenties and see what you can find. I remember this being discussed. I think it came down to that the manufacture had to prove a certain aftermarket part caused the malfuction for it to void the warrenty. I'm not 100% positive on this though.

the only thing those will void on your warranty is your exhaust and air intake warranty. That has nothin to do with your tranny.

have a friend lay down on the ground when you start it up and hear what it is, or at least have someone in the back seat be able to tell you if it is concentrated in the rear of the car or the tranny.
First thought that comes to mind is fluids being dirty and need to be flushed. in the tranny and rear diff. that might help.
as for warrenty, a catback exhaust voids nothing on the warrenty. it cannot legally. it does nothing to the smog or effect the engine in any sense. anything post catalytic converter cannot void warrenty. this is part of a Haley Smoot (i think it is) law. Plus I have been told this numerous times by different car dealers. A cold air on the other hand can effect the whole engine's warrenty. It brings in more air and could possibly bring in debris causing the pistons to malfunction and yadda yadda. cai can void a warrenty, but it would only void a warrenty on the engine, not the tranny or rear end or suspension.
man, whenever warrenty comes up on this board, people are so optimistic. you could have tinted windows on an evo, and your clutch warrenty would be voided. basically if you drive it off the lot, then you have voided your warrenty

Yeh..if the people wanna be really pissy they can say anything will void the warranty. I know they tried to tell me since I put in an aftermarket cd player it voided my hood scoop...still haven't figured that one out.. I guess they figured since I raised the hood at one point I caused it to dislodge or something..I dunno.

That'd do it...and I'll bet Ford won't cover that one either...O well, good excuse lol. You'll just lose some low end with the headers is the only thing to remember
