im too young, but the crazy dishwasher at my work claims she was there. says that even though bullets were flying this way and that, she still got all them hard carmel stains off the porcelain, and bleach and awesome orange work well to take off blood stains from canvas tents.

In 1967 I was sent a draft notice but I was only 7. My parents had to go explain to the Army that they were not taking their 7 yr old son.
So no I was not in Vietnam but I could have been

I'm 39.
My Dad was a Vietnam Vet, but not me.
I somehow think there aren't too many Vietnam vets here.

I agree there are probably no vietnam vets here.
We should start a poll for veterans involved in any combat, veterans who weren't in combat, and non-military. or something like that.
My great-uncle was in vietnam. His whole platoon (i think thats what it is.. i get the army ones mixed up ) was killed in an ambush and he was the only survivor. The enemy soldiers kicked all the soldiers, and if they moved, they stabbed them w/ bayonettes. They kicked him, and he managed to not make a noise... He was shot in the leg and stayed hidden for something like 48 hours, then found his way back to an American camp or something.
At least that's what I recall from the story. He didn't tell me about it, he never did talk about it around me that I heard, that's just what somebody else told me.

Well, I know there is at least one combat vet here.
Me. I've posted about it somewhere on this site. I think it was in a n owned pictures thread. Might be a few others here too.

I am a Viet Nam Era Veteran of the Air Force, Served from Feb of 70 til April of 73, I came within a hair of going, they almost sent our whole squadron from Langley AFB, but I didn't know about it til years after I got out when my uncle the Chief Master Sgt told me about it, they changed their mind and sent another squadron instead, I served there, in England and in Germany in my 3 years and 2 months, also FL, IL and of course my basic in TX.
