gutted cats?

i was wondering if anyone has ever gutted their cats and if they have if you could give me kind of a how-to? i want to gut them but i don't want to get into it not knowing were to start. also, well there be any significant gains by doing this? i have an h-pipe and flowmasters.

there is not much of a gain on doing this on our cars, but its good for a few hp. i dont kno if you live in a place where emissions tests are done but if you dont go for it, if you do u will never pass one again and its a big fine if you cought. if i were you i would get two high flow cats and that way u will not have any trouble with the law/emissions/and your exhaust smelling like crap

all ive seen from gutting/removing cats is more noise which isnt a hell of alot for the risks your taking for emissions test.
