Hi, I've been reading around these forums for a while but just decided to post.
I just got a '99 Mustang V6 Convertible...and I have around $500 left over to spend on mods, and I've decided to put a duel exhaust in first. Here's what I was thinking:
GT Takeoffs
Flowmaster 40 Series 2 Chamber Mufflers
X-pipe/H-pipe? (What do I need here?)
Was wondering if anyone has any different suggestions along with what type of pipe I would need to install these parts.
The next thing I would be doing after that would be a CAI.
If anyone has any other suggestions, let me know...thanks in advance

on a v6 an x-pipe won't make much, if any, difference in preformance to an H-pipe. Either one will give you the same performance gain. I guess just saying that you hafve an x-pipe on your car sounds cooler to say than having an h-pipe. H-pipes are more common, there may be a price difference there.

Also, will any of this prevent me from passing emissions/inspection tests? I live in NJ.

As long as you don't take your cats off it will still be completely legal in any state I believe

although if the cops around you are real jerks they might get you for loud exhaust. In my city, Appleton Wi, the cops are dicks about modified exhaust. I don't know how they are in NJ but as long as you have good mufflers and hi-flo cats you should be good.

Alright...I listened to all the exhausts and decided on the Magnaflow Magnapacks...here's a site selling them: http://www.completeexhaust.com/produ...roducts_id=387
Is this a good price for the mufflers? If not, anyone have any better suggestions?
Also, it says there that it is 2" in and out...I want to get GT Takeoffs which I believe are 2.25"...will the muffler fit in or do i have to get one that is 2.25" out?

I have a friend here in town with magnapacks on his 6. He used to post on there. Sounds damn good though.

I have found nothing to prove that yet. The only I've read about that relating to that is the diesel engines will have to go through emissions.
