How to fix a rip in convertible top?

I had my car parked in the school parking lot recently, and someone who was jealous put a cut about an inch long in the soft convertible top

...it went all the way through, so for now I put waterproof tape on the inside so it doesn't leak.

Aside from buying a whole new top, does anyone have any ideas on how to fix it?

I'm sure there is a convertible repair kit somewhere...I'd just put it on my insurance and keep going however..no need to have a leaky top

what would a completely new top cost? I have a cherry red stang and a tan top.i would really like to get a black top but im not sure what the top for an 03' would cost . thanks

use spray paint to paint the duct tape to match the top. you will pretty much need to replace the whole top because even sewing a new patch will leak at the seams

I believe new tops are around 400...but don't use that against me...
