They also said it on CNN this morning. There was a piece about the death of the muscle cars.

This isn't touching the Camaro, Corvette, CTS-V. Already spoke with a GM rep about it.

But does this mean they aren't going to do anymore R&D into the existing products? I mean what other performance division does GM have other than the Camaro/ Vette/ CTS-V lines? They quit making the Trailblazer SS, the trucks were laughable, what else is left? The SSR? HHR?

The Camaro SS and ZO6, ZR1 aren't considered HPVO cars. They're considered production cars, not HPVO based cars. I made a mistake in my last post and put CTS-V when I meant to put ZR1/ZO6.
The teams that work on those cars are separate from the HPVO people who did the CTS-V, Cobalt SS, etc...
However, I'm not sure what'll happen to the Z28 that is now coming into the picture. I'd love to see it get approved since its already created, just needs approval. However its not a Prius so I don' tknow if they'll approve it.
Heres some info on it if you're wondering what the Z28 would be packing: Possible return of the Camaro Z28
