Oil pressure going crazy

I was just driving and noticed my oil pressure guage was goin from normal, to nothing, to normal, to nothing, to normal to nothing... you get the point. I do need an oil change, and my car does leak oil, but any ideas what the problem might be? I dont have a CEL or anything... should i be worried?

I think i just need to add some oil... when its not raining tomorrow ill check my oil level.

most likely it, my ram does that when it gets low, the damn thing burns oil faster than gas, but that all will be fixed very very soon....

check your oil pump it might be goin out

It could also be that when you did some engine work the oil pressure sender's wire got a little lose. Crimp it back down and see if that works.

sound like a sensor or wire problem

my car did the same thing once, do u have any sounds or is it just the gauge.
If u have like a clicking sound up top then u might have spun cam bearings.
If there is no sound then it cound be the gauge it self or the oil pressure sensor.

If your car is so low on oil to show up on the gauge you have bigger problems than you can imagine!!!
