Some ****er (excuse my language, but hes ****in dead tomorrow) got the "bright" idea of jumping on the hood of my car today with his foot. It was raining out and his foot slipped across the hood.
I came home and checked it out after verbally assaulting his ass and found some hairline scratches where his foot was.
Anyone know of any product(s) that would remove hairline scratches without ruining the look of the paint (basically, nothing noticable)?
I'm really desperate here and you bet your ass I won't be the one paying for these products.

If you have soft hands u can use rubbing compund if the scratches are light. I used it once near my side scoops, and it was on a dent actually. It worked well, but it took a bit of the clear coat off since i got a little excited. Can't tell i had another cars paint on there though, all you can see is the dent.

Well you see Brent, the problem with that is I'm not the type of person that will go to the extremes unless its necessary; especially since this kid is supposed to be my friend.
Hopefully fishers will see this thread and lend his expertise. I'm really down in the dumps now and would love some ideas.
I thought about rubbing compound, and yes I have soft hands, but I've never used anything like that on my car, let alone any others, so it'd be something new to me.

you can try 3m perfect it II clear coat safe rubbing compound its the only brand and type i would use, the other stuff may make it worse.... if that wont get it out take it to a pro and see what they can do dont keep on using it if it wont come put after 5 applications then forget about it....remember you are smearing the clear around so it will work better to go in circles and some across the scratches. after this make sure you wax the area a good bit, i tried some turtle wax it made it WORSE and dulled the paint... luckly i got it back shinny like new.

try some meguiars scratch X, but other then that ill need some pics cause there are lots of thinks i can think of, like is it a light or heavy scratch, (does your finger nail catch in the scratch?) with 3M cut's u will need a high speed buffer,

its a fine scratch....The paint is not split.
It would be difficult to get pics cause its so thin, but I still can see it and I want it gone.
Could it be a scratch in the coating over the paint? I mean my finger nail lets me know where it is, but its not like my nail gets caught going over it.

umm if its that light then use some meguiars scratch x or cali scratch stuff, both the same, but DO NOT wet sand the area unless you know how to high speed buff the area...

use maguiers scratch x it is safe for clear coats dont use anything like 1500gr go to your local hobby shop for a fexgrit polishing kit paper starts at 3200gr and goes down to 12000 gr and is used for polishing plexiglass to perfection back up with flannel buff and wax as usual

We have been over this topic a few times... Here is what I posted in another thread...
fine scratches
Honestly Meguiar's Scratch X sucks, if you going to use a Meguiar's product, use Meguiar's No. 9 Swirl Remover.
If the scratch is deep, your more or less going to need take it in and have someone either try to polish the scratch out, or get it repainted... I doubt you can get it out by hand...

if it was made by a shoe, i doubt it was a small light scratch, also without pictures you cant suggest anything

clay will only clean the paint. it WILL NOT shine or protect the paint, Only to clean the paint from tree sap, fall out, and overspray...
